ABOUT IYC:The International Youth Committee (IYC) is an International Youth Organization working to provide a policy framework and practical guidelines for national action and international support to improve the situation of young people around the world. It was founded on 21st February 2007. Now it has over 1 million (1,000,000) youth members and volunteers in across 176 countries with 57 country ambassadors across the 6 Continent.
IYC is purely a voluntary organization formed by intellectual groups of professional young people to work for the promotion of World Program of Action for Youth of United Nation adopted by the United Nation General Assembly in 1995. It is a global network of young people across the world working to facilitate a process that increases awareness on and implementation of the World Program for Action on Youth (WPAY).
IYC is registered under Article 64 of the Indian Trust Act 1882 of the Constitution of India. IYC is also specially accredited to United Nation in accordance with paragraph 6 of the General Assembly Resolution No. 71/280 dated 4th May 2017.
VISION:To facilitate effective partnerships with youth, youth-led organizations and youth movements to further strengthen inclusive youth participation in the decision-making processes.
MISSION:To provide educational resources, leadership opportunities, and a global network to the next generation of world leaders.
OUR CORE VALUES & PRINCIPLES:
Serve as a catalyst to enhance the coordination and harmonization of youth programming among IYC agencies and beyond.
Engage Member States, private sector, foundations, academic institutions, media and civil society, including youth-led organizations in the IYC programmes on youth and facilitate multi-stakeholder partnerships on youth issues.
Promote stronger youth engagement in setting, implementing and evaluating the various development frameworks and increase international awareness and attention to youth issues.
Increase accessibility of young women and men (including marginalized youth) to the IYC through promoting structured mechanisms for youth participation at national, regional and international levels
